ACFIC’s Gao Yunlong met HKICAL delegation in Beijing
Gao Yunlong, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and Chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), met with a delegation of more than 40 people from the Hong Kong Industrial & Commercial Association Limited (HKICAL) led by Jiang Dake, chief of the HKICAL and executive vice chairman of Happy Hong Foundation and chairman of Lai Tak Holdings Limited, on January 14, 2019.
Gao said that the central government had repeatedly affirmed the important role of Hong Kong people in the great national achievement of opening-up and reform during the last 40 years, where they were both witnesses and participants, beneficiaries and contributors.
China has entered a new era, so do the opening-up and reform and the cause of “one country, two systems”, which provides Hong Kong with extensive opportunities.
There will be various challenges and problems, which will also be tamed by deepening reform and opening up, which will further unleash market vitality and potential.
Gao stressed that the HKICAL had been upholding the principle of "one country, two systems" and “loving the country and Hong Kong”, which is of significance in safeguarding social stability and prosper in Hong Kong and in promoting exchanges with the inland. And the association’s active role in charity career and political consultation in HK’s and national matters is also laudable.
Gao hoped that it would continue supporting the political principle in the future and taking part in the high-quality economic development and the reform and opening-up in the new era with HK’s resources.
He wished that the HKICAL could play an active role in getting on board national development and the construction of Guangdong - Hong Kong - Macao Greater Bay Area, while fully utilizing its international resources in telling Chinese stories objectively well.
Gao promised that the ACFIC would continue being a bridge for the HKICAL to promote exchange with its inland counterparts and to work jointly for the prosper and stability of HK and the nation.
Jiang Dake expressed deep appreciation of the ACFIC’s support and encouragement.
He said that the HKICAL as one of the important associations of industry and commerce in HK would play an active role in participating in the construction of the Guangdong-Hong Kong - Macao Great Bay Area.
He hoped that the central government could provide convenience and preferential policies in fields such as taxation, finance and industry entry threshold, and that the ACFIC would provide guidance for them to deepen exchange and cooperation for a win-win situation.
ACFIC’s vice president Wang Yongqing, secretary-general Wen Hongwu from the Hong Kong Liason Office, representatives of the China chamber of international cooperation for the private sector and entrepreneurs attended the meeting.
