Gao Yunlong attended Belt and Road CEO Conference
The Belt and Road CEO Conference was held in Beijing on April 25, 2019, which is a new spotlight of the 2nd Belt and Road Forum (BRF) for International Cooperation.
Gao Yunlong, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC), Xiao Yaqing, director of the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC), and Gao Yan, chairperson of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) attended and addressed at the forum.
Gao stressed that the profound adjustment of the world economy somehow entrusted a mission for the Belt and Road construction to promote healthy development of globalization and rejuvenate global economy. He hoped that more and more countries would adhere to the principle of discussion, cooperation and sharing so as to bring more people from the industry and commerce sector to join in the construction of the Belt and Road, a new platform of international cooperation with sustainable development impetus.
Gao appealed to enterprises domestic and abroad to deepen, improve and polish their cooperation under the framework of the Belt and Road Initiative.
He said that the ACFIC would continue enhancing dialogue and communication with the chambers of industry and commerce in different countries so as to provide more support and service to entrepreneurs, especially in the implementation of cooperation agreement.
Xiao Yaqing, director of the SASAC, said that the state-owned enterprises had sped up their internationalization through joining the construction of the Belt and Road, which had also hauled the economic growth of their residing countries and played an important role of promoting globalization. In the future, such state-owned enterprises should mobilize their development with local demand with higher standards aimed at demonstration projects, which was not only an action of realizing win-win development but also a fulfillment of social responsibility.
Gao Yan, chairperson of the CCPIT, pointed out that the people from the industry and commerce sector were participants, contributors and main force of the Belt and Road construction, and that holding such a forum of entrepreneurs matched with the dire wish for substantive and win-win cooperation in entrepreneurs from many countries.
She hoped that enterprises from all countries could make new achievement in deepening, upgrading and stabilizing the Belt and Road construction.
Chairpersons from international organizations, governmental organizations and business associations including Gonzalez, executive director of the International Trade Center, Eleni Kounalakis, Lieutenant Governor of California from the United States, and Zhang Songsheng, chairman of the Singapore chamber of commerce and industry, attended the conference and gave speeches.
Heads of CNPC, China Communications Construction Group, China Catang Group, Hongdou Group, Xinhua Group, Standard Chartered Group and other Chinese and foreign enterprises spoke at the plenary session.
Delegates of the enterprises at the meeting said that the Belt and Road had brought huge development opportunities to enterprises of all countries. They would share success, innovate cooperation, respect the market rules and abide by international regulations and related laws to improve competitive capacity and to make mutual beneficial development.
Representatives from trade promotion agencies and business associations of various countries expressed that they would strengthen investigation and research, strengthen communication and contact, jointly build cooperation platform, improve service assurance and push the Belt and Road construction to a new level.
Co-organized by the CCPIT, ACFIC and SASAC and echoing with the theme of “Belt and Road Cooperation, Shaping a Brighter Shared Future”, the CEO Conference provided a platform of communication, project signing, docking and deepening cooperation.
Over 850 participants from governmental organizations, business associations, and corporations of more than 80 countries attended the meeting.
A series of projects covering various fields in many countries were signed afterwards during around a thousand docking discussions afterwards.
