Xu Lejiang visites Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia
A delegation by the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC) led by Xu Lejiang ,secretary of the party leadership and the executive vice chairman, visited Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia upon the invitation by the business chambers in the three countries from May 22 to 31, 2019.
The visited was aimed at deepening contact and cooperation with the government organizations, trade promotion departments and business chambers in the three countries, by visiting overseas Chinese industrial parks and the development of Chinese funded enterprises.
During the visit, the delegation inspected three China- ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) entrepreneurs’ association members to look into their needs and developing experience so as to explore a better support and guidance for private enterprises to go abroad, attend the construction of Belt and Road Initiative and realize industrial transformation and high-quality development.
During the visit, Xu Lejiang met with Somdy Douangdy, Laos deputy prime minister and finance minister, Hor Namhong, Cambodia deputy prime minister, Nguyen seong fung, central committee member of the Communist Party of Vietnam and chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Laos minister of trade and industry Ms.Khemmani Pholsena, and Run Ming, Governor of Cambodia's western port province, and the people in charge of the Ministry of Planning and Investment of Vietnam, Development Council of Cambodia, National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Vietnam and National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Laos.
They all spoke highly of the Belt and Road Initiative, and expressed appreciation for the great achievements made by China's private enterprises in the past four decades of reform and opening up and intention for further realistic and win-win cooperation with China with their respective developing strategies so as to build a human community with shared destiny in the future.
The three countries also expressed warm welcome for Chinese enterprises to invest and do business in their countries, ready to complement each others’ advantages and develop together with Chinese enterprises.
Xu Lejiang said China has a long history of friendship with the three countries, which were good neighbors as well as important partners.
He said that further and stronger cooperation was needed given the current world situation when trade protectionism and unilateralism rose and global economy changed rapidly.
Chinese private enterprises developed fast during the last 40 years of reform and opening up, said Xu, and that Chinese private enterprises took part of 90 percent of all enterprises in China, which contributed more than half of the national revenue, over 60 percent of the national GDP and above 70 percent of national technical innovation achievements nowadays and generated more than 80 percent employment. The private economic sector had become essential force for the social economic development of China.
He also introduced ACFIC, which is the tie between the Communist Party of China and Chinese government with the private economic sector, and its mission, which is to help guide a healthy development of private economy and entrepreneurs.
With the investment of Chinese private enterprises growing in the three countries, the ACFIC would continue strengthen exchanges with the government, business chambers and enterprises in the three countries so as to enhance mutual understanding and expand cooperation in order to realize a win-win situation during the construction of the Belt and Road.
During the visit, Xu also signed Belt and Road cooperation memorandum with Vietnamese and Laos national federations of industry and commerce respectively, agreeing to deepen material cooperation with each others’ advantages, so as to promote bilateral trade relations.
The delegation held meetings with Chinese funded enterprises in three countries and visited Xiaomi Technology, Vietnam Lok Wai Fu company, New Hope Group, Vietnam Longjiang Industrial Park, Laos Saithata Comprehensive Development Zone, Laos-China Modern Agricultural Science and Technology Demonstration Park, Hodo Group in Sihanouk Port Special Economic Zone, and Zhongqi Holding Group investment project in west port.
Xu said, it’s a trend for qualified and strong enterprises such as New Hope to go out under current economic globalization, which was a chance brought by the Belt and Road Initiative to expand international market. In fact, many private enterprises had made successful examples.
He said that the ACFIC would coordinate resources from all aspects to solve problems met by enterprises going abroad and promote the transformation and upgrading of overseas industrial parks.
He encouraged enterprises to go out together with leading corporations.
He hoped that overseas Chinese enterprises should raise awareness for risks, strengthen business philosophy of compliance, strictly abide by local laws and regulations, earnestly fulfill social responsibilities, increase the bond between local people with Chinese, and help the Belt and Road construction achieve solid results.
The delegation also paid visit to Chinese embassies in Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia and Chinese consulate general in Ho Chi Minh city.
Xu hoped that the ACFIC could strengthen communication with the embassy and consulate general so as to create better investment and trade environment for private enterprises going abroad.
