ACFIC’s 12th standing committee held third plenary meeting in Xi’ning
The 12th standing committee of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC) held third plenary meeting in Xi’ning, capital city of Qinghai Province, on Aug. 23, 2019.
They reviewed President Xi Jinping’s thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics in a new era and his remarks on developing the private sector and the ACFIC, especially those said on the symposium of private entrepreneurs.
The meeting also made a summary of ACFIC’s work in the past year, analyzed the current situation and arranged important issues in the coming year.
Gao Yunlong, vice chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and chairman of the ACFIC, attended the meeting and gave a speech.
Xu Lejiang, vice minister of the United Front Work Department (UFWD) of the Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and executive chairman of ACFIC, presided over the meeting.
According to Gao, the ACFIC, with a problem-driven, goal-oriented and result-oriented initiative, had promoted institutional construction by carrying out Xi’s remarks regarding the private sector, and promoted the building of a harmonious federation by focusing on keeping contact with the representative personages of the private economy, and deepened providing service for society by attaching importance to research and response to the China-US economic frictions, and furthered the association reform by energizing ACFIC’s organization.
All these work had made outstanding achievement in the past year, Gao said.
He said that China’s economic development and the structural upgrading in the first half year had been stable, and the market vitality had constantly burst, with the major index staying in a reasonable range and factors good for high-quality development coming up.
However, during ACFIC’s inspections, many private enterprises said that their corporate development remained at a low point with problems such as lack of market, difficult financing and rising cost unsolved and new problems coming out.
Gao asked private entrepreneurs to keep strategic confidence and focus, with a resolution to turn crisis into opportunities so as to get on a broader stage.
He hoped private entrepreneurs to make the most of the opportunities of policy, environmental optimization, consumption upgrading, improving weak links, industrial reform and opening up, and to be mature in politics, stabler in developing, abiding by the law, active in fulfilling social responsibilities so as to innovate without distraction and run their corporations in a down-to-earth way.
He also set requirements on the ACFIC to face the new normal of task stacking, asking them to better coordinate their work by looking at the target of high-quality development while focusing on tackling difficult and important problems, with a down-to-earth spirit and in a responsible and practical way.
He also asked the ACFIC to continue political study on carrying out Xi’s remarks regarding the private sector and improving the quality of putting forward suggestions to the central government.
“With joint efforts, we will build a more mature and standardized ACFIC, better fulfill the tasks and missions entrusted to us by the State Council, and make a dedication with outstanding achievements to the 70th anniversary of the founding of new China.” Gao said.
Xu Lejiang said this year’s plenary meeting had given full play to the main role of entrepreneurs from more various fields.
The meeting released the report on social responsibility of private enterprises in China (2019), outstanding case of social responsibility of Chinese private enterprises (2019), report of Chinese private enterprises sustainable development in participating the Belt and Road Initiative (2019), and labor relations report of China’s private enterprises.
The meeting also examined and passed a personnel statement, which added Qiu Xiaoping into the 12th executive committee of the ACFIC and elected him to be vice chairman of the executive committee and vice president of ACCIC.
The meeting also arranged attendees to visit the Atomic City in Haibei Tibetan autonomous prefecture of Qinghai Province, where the first atomic bomb of China was born.
ACFIC’s vice chairmen Fan Youshan, Huang Rong, Li Zhao Qian, Lu Yong, Ye Qing, Li Xiangping, Qiu Dachang, Chen Fang, Zheng Yuewen, Nan Cunhui, Qian Yingyi, Huang Li, Chang Zhaohua, and Li Changjin, ACCIC’s vice presidents Shi Guilu, Zhu Jianmin, Tang Liang, Su Zhigang, Zhang Xinghai, Zhang Jianhong, Shen Bin, Zhou Haijiang, and Wei Lihua, members of the ACFIC’s 12th standing committee, secretary general of ACFIC, and department directors of it attended the meeting.
