Qiu Xiaoping attended 1st China - ASEAN Private Entrepreneurs Forum

 The 1st China - ASEAN Private Entrepreneurs Forum was held in Nanning, capital city of southwest China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region on Sept. 21, 2019.

The forum was co-sponsored by the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC) and the people’s government of Guangxi, and was co-organized by the secretariat of the China-ASEAN Expo and the Guangxi’s ACFIC branch during the 16th China-ASEAN Exposition.

Chen Wu, governor of Guangxi, met some of the entrepreneurs attending the forum. 

Qin Rupei, executive vice president and member of the standing committee of the CPC Guangxi committee, Qiu Xiaoping, ACFIC’s vice chairman, and Xie Wudi, vice secretary-general of Cambodian development council attended the forum and made keynote speeches.

Zhang Xiaoqin, vice director of the standing committee of the people’s congress of Guangxi, presided over the opening ceremony.

Qin Rupei said in his speech that Guangxi had been actively implementing the opening up policy under the central government’s new guidance by attaching great importance to the countries and regions along the Belt and Road and speeding up the construction of a new layout of all-round opening up to deepen exchanges and cooperation with ASEAN countries.

He hoped that entrepreneurs from China and ASEAN countries would make the best of this forum to enhance communication and cooperation so as to join in the construction of new transportation channels by the land, sea and air, the building of the free trade zone in Guangxi, and the promotion of win-win cooperation.

Qiu Xiaoping said that China and the ASEAN countries are along the Belt and Road with economic complementarities and broad cooperation future, and that the forum was an essential platform of cooperation and exchange for entrepreneurs, where they could share information and discuss problems and ideas.

Qiu hoped that the entrepreneurs from both China and ASEAN countries could grasp this opportunity to exchange with and learn from each other so as to have a collision of wisdom and successful experience, and to unfold cooperation on production and capacity by utilizing various trade cooperation zones built by China and ASEAN countries, and to make have deep cooperation on innovation research, industrial transformation and upgrading for a better development and regional prosper.

The 1st China - ASEAN Entrepreneurs Forum, themed with “new world order, new opportunity for China - ASEAN private enterprises”, was attended by leaders of the federations of industry and commerce from Sichuan, Shandon, Jilin, Jiangxi, Gansu, Guizhou, Yunnan and Henan provinces.

Over 300 entrepreneurs from 27 provinces of China and 10 ASEAN countries exchanged on the construction of the Belt and Road and the construction of a China - ASEAN community with shared future.

Lei Jun, ACFIC’s vice chairman and chairman and CEO of Xiaomi, Dai Liangye, executive president of Sunsuria Group, Zhang Jinxiong, executive vice president of the Indonesian Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Wang Licheng, chairman of the China - Africa Business Council and board chairman of Holley, Huang Qingsheng, board chairman of Crimson Logic from Singapore, and Yan Hao, board chairman of Pacific Construction Group, shared their experience and thoughts on how private enterprises confront with the complicated and fickle world economy.

The organizer also invited Yu Miaojie, deputy dean of the National development research institute of Peking University, and Li Guanghui, chief expert of China’s Free Trade Zone Strategy Research Institute and doctoral supervisor with the Institute of International Economy at the University of International Business and Economics, to make keynote speeches on world economic order and business strategy on diversified development during going global.

Entrepreneurs attending the event believed that the Belt and Road Initiative was helpful for enterprises and joining in this strategy was a sustainable development for enterprises.

They hoped that the forum could strengthen exchanges and cooperation among enterprises alongside the Belt and Road so as to play their “market principal role” in regional prosper.

The keynote speech session was co-hosted by Zhou Haijiang, vice president of the All-China Chamber of Industry and Commerce(ACCIC) and chairman and CEO of Hodo Group, and founder and Chanthachone Vongsay, vice president of the K&C Group.

On the forum, officials from Beihai and Yulin cities made a promotion campaign to introduce Guangxi’s cities.

The organizer also held a salon for China - ASEAN entrepreneurs to exchange on the current cooperation and communication among enterprises from China and ASEAN countries, building effective cooperation platform for China - ASEAN private economic capital, and realizing resource share and win-win cooperation with the trade zone of China and ASEAN countries.
