Xu Lejiang attended 8th Global Tourism Economy Forum in Macao

 Xu Lejiang, secretary of the party leadership of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce (ACFIC) and the executive vice chairman, visited Macao to attend the 8th Global Tourism Economy Forum (GTEF) upon invitation from Oct. 13 to 15, 2019.

Organized by the Macao SAR government and supported by the ACFIC, the 8th GTEF was held from Oct. 14 to 15 in Macao.

About 2000 attendees from all over the world discussed on improving tourism and leisure industrial quality for a harmonious and beautiful life shared by all human beings, under the theme of “Tourism and Leisure: Roadmap to a Beautiful Life”.

Xu Lejiang addressed on the opening ceremony. 

He said that over the past 20 years’ of Macao’s return to China, it had given full play to the unique advantages of “one country, two systems" and made great efforts to build a world tourism and leisure center, thus establishing its unique position in the development of the world tourism economy. 

At present, tourism had become strategic pillar industry of the national economy and private enterprises a new force in China’s tourism industry.

It’s a shared vision and mission of government, enterprise and society to promote global tourism industry.

Xu put forward three proposals in this regard.

First, expand opening up and cooperation. By taking the chance of the Belt and Road Initiative, enterprises from worldwide should strengthen cooperation and complement each other with respective advantages so as to form a solid foundation for the sustainable development of global tourism.

Second, create a convenient environment and strengthen the construction of tourism infrastructure, while accelerating the establishment of daily work contact mechanism among relevant parties to improve the tourism environment experience.

Thirdly, share development experience. Enterprises from different countries should learn from each other in industry planning, project creativity, market development and tourism management, and grow together through sharing.

During the forum, the ACFIC and the GTEF together hosted a session discussion on “Chinese private enterprises promote the Guangdong - Hong Kong - Macao Greater Bay Area construction:diversified tourism creates a better life”. 

This is also the second time for the ACFIC to join in the GTEF with an in-depth approach after holding the “Chinese enterprises view Greater Bay Area” session last year.

Fu Jun, board chairman of the Macrolink Group, and Wang Yu, chairman of the Spring Airlines and member of the standing committee of the ACFIC, made speeches on the forum.

During his visit in Macao, Xu also visited Edmund Ho Hau-wah, vice chairman of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, and held symposium with the Macao Chamber of Commerce and the Macao Young Entrepreneurs Association, where he shared thoughts on the co-work in promoting the construction of the Belt and Road and the Greater Bay Area and the exchange between young entrepreneurs from Macao and the inland.

Xu also met with Fu Ziying, director of the liaison office of the central government in Macao SAR, visited the executive committee of ACFIC in Macao, and inspected relevant programs by the Macao based company Melco Internineing, where he acknowledged the executive committee’s work on bridging Macao and the inland.

Ye Qing, ACFIC’s vice chairman and chairman of the Beijing Yeshi Group, Tang Liang, vice chairman of the All-China Chamber of Industry and Commerce(ACCIC) and chairman of Ossen Group, and Su Zhigang, ACCIC’s vice chairman and chairman of the Chimelog Group.
