Wang Qinmin: ACFIC Must Speak for Small Biz

"We must reflect the interests, appeals and requests of the personnel of the business circle, especially those of micro and small firms which constitute the large majority of the circle, assisting them to safeguard their rights and interests," ACFIC Chairman Wang Qinmin told a press conference in Beijing on March 6.

Wang said that nationwide coverage and inclusiveness of various industries are the most distinctive characters of the organizations of federations of industry and commerce. For many years, FICs have been in active service of the healthy development of the non-public economy and its personages, gathering greater influence and cohesion along the way, he said.

The chairman also reiterated that the FICs are a "bridge and link" for the CPC and the government to connect with the personages of the non-public economy, and an aide to the government in administering and serving the non-public economy.

The press conference was called by the central committees of the country"s eight democratic parties and the ACFIC on the sidelines of the first session of the 12th National Committee of the Chinese People"s Political Consultative Conference.

The chairpersons of the parties and the ACFIC expressed confidence that with the deepening of the country"sadministrative institution and system reform, the CPC-led multi-party cooperation and political consultation system will play an even greater part in the socialist democratic and political construction.
