Wang Qinmin Attends 5th China Charity Fair

ACFIC Chairman Wang Qinmin said that ACFIC attaches great importance to development of China’s public benefit and charity cause and use it as an important tool for promoting healthy growth of the non-public economy and its figures at the International Charity Summit following the opening ceremony of the 5th China Charity Fair in Shenzhen of South China’s Guangdong Province on September 23.Wang

Wang stressed that ACFIC, an organizer of the Fair, guides private enterprises to participate in public benefit and social causes and fulfill their social responsibility through the platform of charity, which is a traditional virtue of the Chinese nationality and an important sign of civilization and social progress.

He noted that the task of building a moderately prosperous society has entered a sprint stage and its hardest part lies in poverty eradication in rural areas, especially the impoverished areas. By end of last year, China’s poor population, who live in 444,000 villages of 2,191 counties of 25 provinces, totals 55.75 million; and 11 clusters of adjacent very poor areas, and some poor areas in the Tibet Autonomous Region and the south of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region locate on remote and mountainous terrains with few paved roads and scarce water and electricity facilities, and thus face more difficulties, high costs and greater possibility of relapse in poverty alleviation.

He urged various social groups, foundations, social service organizations, and governments to do what they can to offer assistance and build platforms, and he called upon private enterprises to participate in the targeted poverty alleviation program of "10,000 Enterprises Assist 10,000 Villages".
