Xie Jingrong Visits Thailand, Nepal

An ACFIC delegation led by Vice Chairman Xie Jingrong paid a visit to Thailand and Nepal between May 20 and 27 to tighten ties with relevant government agencies and chambers of commerce of these countries, push ahead pragmatic COCs-bolstered collaboration between their enterprises, research Chinese overseas economic and trade cooperation zones, explore Chinese enterprises’ go-global channels and platforms, and guide their cooperation with their Thai and Nepalese counterparts in new energy, tourism and agriculture to propel structural upgrade, as well as deepen people-to-people friendship and understanding and safeguard national security and stability.

At the opening ceremony of the 14th China-Nepal Non-governmental Cooperation Forum co-organized by ACFIC and the Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Kathmandu, Xie said that following the Forum's 13 chapters over the past 21 years, it has begun to bear fruit, forming a mechanism that promotes people-to-people exchange and project collaboration between their enterprises, which has opened a key channel for closer China-Nepal business ties. He said that ACFIC is eager to further tighten ties with its Nepalese counterpart and roll out pragmatic exchange and cooperation of a larger scope and in more aspects.

At the closing ceremony, the ACFIC Tourism Chamber of Commerce donated 620,000 RMB to Nepal’s post-quake primary school reconstruction program, and signed a memorandum of understanding with the Nepal Tour and Travel Agents. The Beijing Bolong Solar Energy High-Tech Development Co., Ltd. And the Innovative Ventures of Nepal signed a cooperation agreement on sale and investment.

During the visits, Xie met with leaders of the Thailand Board of Investment’s one-stop service center, the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in Thailand, the Panyapiwat Institute of Management, the Nepal Ministry of Industry and the Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Chamber for exchange over tighter bilateral trade and economic cooperation for pragmatic, win-win development.

During meetings with government officials and leaders of chambers of commerce of the two countries, Xie said that both sides should pursue the common targets set by their government and state leaders, propel the dovetailing of China’s Belt and Road strategy with Thailand 4.0 Development Strategy and the State Reconstruction and Development Plan of Nepal, tighten exchange and collaboration in various fields and on various levels, and elevate Sino-Thai and Sino-Nepal trade and economic relations.

He also visited the Chinese Embassies and attended symposiums with Chinese enterprises there, as well as the Sino-Thai Zone, Himalaya Airlines, and the Kathmandu Books Company of Kunming Xinzhi Group to learn about their go-global experiences, troubles and proposals.
