Chairman Attends 13th Mainland-Taiwan-Hong Kong-Macao Biz Co-op Forum

ACFIC Chairman and CPPCC Vice Chairman Wang Qinmin called for deepening and expanding cooperation in scientific and technological R&D, innovation and entrepreneurship between Mainland enterprises and Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan enterprises to boost social creativity and market vitality. 

He made the remarks in Hong Kong on June 13 at the 13th Trade and Economic Cooperation Forum for Both Sides of the Taiwan Straits, Hong Kong and Macao", during which business and academic circles of the four parts of the country held in-depth discussions over how to seize opportunities and harness challenges rising from regional economic integration and cooperation through creativity and innovation against the backdrop of Belt and Road construction.    

Wang underscored the importance of tapping each other’s advantages and exploring new methods and channels of shared planning, information sharing, industrial complementarity, and market co-construction in the process of Belt and Road construction. 

Wang said that boosting young entrepreneurs’ sense of creativity and contribution and fully utilizing their dynamics is a hallmark of the age and the need of economic development. He expressed hope that future forums will see more young entrepreneurs joining in and being integrated in the endeavors of building mutually beneficial networks of cooperation, new collaboration models, and multiple collaboration platforms, and of creating a better environment for enterprises seeking, sharing and using business opportunities in Belt and Road construction for sound, long-term growth.  

Yang Wunan, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Taiwan Federation of Industry and Commerce, Li Xiuheng, Chairman of the Chinese Manufacturers’ Association of Hong Kong, and Ma Youli, Chairman of the Macao Chamber of Commerce, also spoke at the inaugural ceremony of the Forum, jointly sponsored by ACFIC and those three organizations.

In Hong Kong, Wang met with Zhang Xiaoming, director of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in Hong Kong SAR; visited the Hong Kong Young Industrialists’ Council, various district Federations of Industry and Commerce, the Hong Kong Chinese General Chamber of Commerce and its Young Executives Committee, and the Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce in China; and exchanged views with the faculty of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University over innovation, entrepreneurship and future-making, as well as Mainland young entrepreneurs’ experience in this regard.
